With a bike you can explore most of Toronto's downtown area along with bike paths and trails and the eastern neighbourhoods of Leslieville and The Beaches, both with spectacular one of a kind shops and restaurants
The marina has spotty WiFi and the closest place with WiFi is Starbucks and Tim Horton’s 20 minutes walk away. It has a clean washroom and laundry facility as well as launch/haul out, gas dock, pump out and some of the cheapest ice anywhere nearby. They have blocks it you prefer them to cubes.
The marina is owned by the Toronto Port Authority, a federal government agency so nothing except the ice is cheap, but the quality of the services is better than average. In 2013 they are currently upgrading the docks and building a pavillion.
According to their web site: "The Outer Harbour Marina (OHM) is one of the largest public, fresh water marinas in Ontario and we are Clean Marine certified. We have a “5 Green Leaf Anchors” rating from the Ontario Marine Operators’ Association (OMOA). This is the highest ranking a marina can attain and shows that the OHM adheres to environmental best practices."
To get to the marina by boat from the west, first clear Gibraltar Point and head up the Outer Harbour Channel past Cherry Beach to the marina. Remember that red buoys are on the starboard side. If you have a tender and want to anchor off, head west before you get to the bridge of an old lake freighter and anchor off the west side of the marina. If you are coming from the south or east, first clear the Leslie St Spit and head west along the channel.

The Marina is situated between the Leslie Street Spit (Tommy Thompson Park on weekends) and downtown. Look east and you have an unparalleled, unspoiled view of the park wilderness, look west for skyscrapers and the CN tower.
Since you can't bring a car, bikes are required when visiting the marina as it is a hot and dusty 20 minute walk to civilization and shops through a construction zone. If you must try walking there consider taking a $7. taxi ride back.
